Here’s a brief summary and some examples of how to use the “Advanced Search” features of Searchsave.com. Searchsave is a search engine with dozens of search types and methods that you can use to streamline your search so that you aren’t getting a lot of results that aren’t pertinent.
When you go to the Searchsave.com homepage you will see a link to “Advanced Search”. These are 8 additional search options in 2 different categories. These can help you refine your searches.

When you install Searchsave in Internet Explorer, Searchsave.com automatically becomes your new home page. This is a common feature in plugins, and is done to make it easier for you to have full access to all of Searchsave.com’s features.
Sometimes you might want to change your home page to something else, however. And this is very easy to do.

When you download addons and plugins for your browser, it’s important that you also where to find your plugins, and how to disable them in case you ever want or need to do that. It’s just part of being in control of your computer. Most likely, you’re never going to NEED to do this, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t know how to anyway.
Once you install Searchsave (also called “Earth from Orbit” or EFO for short), you’ll see that the Searchsave toolbar shows up every time you open a new browser window or tab.

The Searchsave toolbar has a ton of features and there are many, many ways to do searches. So the more you know about the software the more you’ll get out of it.
First thing you should become familiar with is the toolbar itself. All the way to the left is a link to the Earth from Orbit website, then a search field where you can type in a search. Next is a pulldown menu you can click on in order to refine your search by type. Then to the right of that are links to searches related to what you last searched.

You may wonder why, after you install certain software, your home page changes. This is just an automatic action which occurs upon installation of some software. But it isn’t a permanent change.
When you install Searchsave or Earth from Orbit using the Firefox browser, your home page automatically changes so that every time you open the browser you’ll open to the Searchsave search engine home page.
