* Searchsave for Your Research

Posted on April 24th, 2009 by Search Save. Filed under searchsave features.

Back when we were young we used to go to the public library to find all the information we needed for research papers, or just personal research about anything.  Now, with the internet, we can find out anything in the world we are interested in finding out about from the comfort of our own home.

One of the great ways that Searchsave.com can help you is with information gathering.  Searchsave is a search engine with many, many features so you can filter your search results and not have to scan through endless irrelevant results.

Here’s a little experiment you can do to see how this works in practice:

1. Go to searchsave.com

2. Think of a topic you want to find out about.

3. Type your topic into the search field, click the “Web” radio button, and click “Search”.  This will give you all website results pertaining to your chosen topic.

3. Now go back to the searchsave homepage by clicking the back arrow on your browser or the Search Save logo in the upper left corner.  Next try searching your topic but instead of the “Web” button click “Articles”.  This will produce results on article directories that experts have written on your topic.  This can be VERY helpful in classic research, because not only do you find out relevant and important information written by people who are expert in their fields, but also their own website is usually listed at the bottom of the article.  So that enables you to find out more about the author with just a click.

4. Now go back and try the same search term but click on the “Blogs” radio button instead this time.  Now you’ll see results of people and companies who have written blog posts about your topic.  These may be authoritative or sarcastic or completely inexpert musings but very interesting.  They may or may not be helpful, but are certainly an important avenue in research, especially if the research is on a subjective topic or when you’re looking for people’s opinions about something.

There are also image searches and other types of searches you can do.  Try them all and see what happens.  Minimally you’ll be entertained.  Maximally, you’ll have more than enough information to make correct decisions or to write important papers.  Hope this helps.

* How Searchsave Can Help You Through This Economic Crisis

Posted on April 22nd, 2009 by Search Save. Filed under searchsave features.

That our economy is in a state of crisis is not news at this point.  We all know and we’re all feeling it to one degree or another.  Here are some Searchsave tools and tips for you.

If you’re looking for work, go to Searchsave.com and type in the type of job you’re looking for in the big search.  Then click on the “Jobs” radio button and then click “Search”.  That will give you a whole list of posted jobs on job boards and websites all over the world.  Then you can refine your search by location, etc.  But it will definitely get you started in your search.

Alternately, you can click on any of the links under the “Employment & Careers” category below the search field on the home page.  Looks just like this…

Employment & Careers
Employment
Careers
Resume
Jobs
Resume Writing
Federal Jobs
Job Posting
Job
Interviewing
Resumes

And if you don’t need or want a job, and want to just get the heck out of dodge for a little while and deal with the economic crisis THAT way, well…just to the left of the job search category is the Travel category.  Find somewhere awesome to go.

Hope this helps.

* Looking for your Spring Wardrobe?

Posted on March 10th, 2009 by Search Save. Filed under search engine.

Why not utilize the Searchsave tools to help you find everything you need for this spring?  Shoes, skirts, lawn equipment, whatever you’re looking for, Searchsave makes it easier to find it.

As long as I’m thinking about shoes, let’s just use that as an example.  Here’s one way I go about searching for shoes.  On the Searchsave.com homepage I type in “shoes”, click the button that says “shopping” and then “search”.  From there I find the online shoe stores that look interesting to me and just browse around until I find what I want.

When I’m in a hurry, I do it differently.  That’s when I type in the specifics like “platform sandals” and either “images” and then “search” or “shopping” and then “search”.  Either of those methods will get you specific results quickly.

Test it out for yourself and let me know how it goes.  Have fun shopping!

* 120 SearchSave Search Terms

Posted on February 23rd, 2009 by Search Save. Filed under searchsave features.

You may not know this, but on the Searchsave.com home page there are dozens and dozens of categories and sub-categories from which you can search.  I’m going to give you the breakdown here.

We’ve done this so that you can browse quickly for the subjects you’re searching for, and it’s all right there at your fingertips.  We’ve researched to find out what subjects internet users look for online, and then created a page to help you with this.

The main categories are as follows:

Travel, Employment and Careers, Insurance, Business, Health, Internet, Autos, Computers, Homes, Education, Finance, and Legal Help.  Under each of these headings are 10 sub-categories which are specific searches you may need to do in each of those categories.

For example, under “Travel” you’ll find:

Air Travel
Car Rentals
Vacations
Business Travel
Travel Packages
Hotels
Travel Insurance
Las Vegas Hotel
Vacation Rentals
Cruises

Those are the categories which most internet users search for most of the time.  Not that there can’t be others, but those are some main ones.  And so we’ve set it up that you can find the majority of things you’d probably be looking for all one one page.  That’s 12 categories, and 10 sub-categories in each main category.  That makes 120.  There’s the math.  Hope it helps.

* How to Do an Advanced Search with Search Save

Posted on February 19th, 2009 by Search Save. Filed under searchsave features.

With Search Save, you will have a no-hassle way of searching because the topics are all listed on the home page. You just have to click a title or any of the sub-titles and you will be presented with several pages of results. You can also type the keyword on the search field so that you will get the results that you desire

For example, you wanted to search for different types of ‘diets.’ Type this word on the field box and click on the button ’search.’

And if you wanted to do some specific searching, one of the useful features of Search Save will help you. Click on the link ‘advanced search.’

Under the sub-title ‘Find Pages,’ and on the field box next to ‘With All Words,’ type ‘diets’. Click on the ’search’ button found below. You will find several pages of results about all kinds of diets — and more. A list of ‘Related Searches’ is found inside a bar located at the right side of the window.

Now, if you wanted results about vegetarian (or vegan) diets, here’s how to get these:

On the field box after ‘Without Words,’ type the words ‘vegetarian vegan.’ Take note that the keyword ‘diets’ is still on the ‘With All Words’ box.

Click ’search.’ The results will be about vegetarian or vegan diets. Related results are provided on the right side bar again.

Here are more cool ways of using the ‘Advanced Search’ feature:

  • Find a website that you’ve visited before but forgotten the whole URL. Let’s say, all you could recall is the word ‘xoom.’ Below the sub-title ‘Special Searches,’ type ‘xoom’ on the field box after ‘In URL.’ Click ’search.’ You will find all results with the word ‘xoom.’ There are related searches, too.
  • Find all websites related or connected to a particular website. For example, you wanted to look for all websites that are linked to ‘zappos.com.’ Again, under the ‘Special Searches,’ type ‘zappos.com’ on the field box next to ‘Linked To.’ Click ’search’ to find all results to your search and also to ‘related searches.’

To learn more, you may want to watch the tutorial video about Search Save’s ‘advanced search’ feature.

* Why is Search Save Better Than Google?

Posted on January 20th, 2009 by Search Save. Filed under search engine.

It seems Google has added the term ‘google’ to the English vocabulary, which is commonly used as a verb by most Internet users these days. A typical expression may sound like: “Google that keyword so that you may find the topic you’re searching for.” Take note that the word ’searching’ has become synonymous to the new term ‘google’ or even ‘googling.’ Nowadays, ‘to google’ means ‘to type’.

Can you imagine anyone saying: “Search Save that keyword so that you may find the topic you’re looking for?” I don’t think so. Maybe, in the near future…

Actually, you don’t have to ‘type’ anything to be able to ’search’ for something on the Internet. Click here and see what the difference between Google and Search Save is. You don’t need to type in Search Save, because there are lists of most-searched categories and their relevant sub-categories. Because you just have to click the topic that you’re searching for, you also saved time and effort. That’s why we call this new search engine as ‘Search Save,’ because it helps people to ’save time on searching.’

The homepage of Search Save may be considered as a surfing paradise. And Internet surfers are usually exploratory and adventurous. Most of them are thirsty for knowledge. They like to read useful information. They like to discover new things. They like to search stuff at random.

With Search Save, the options are conveniently lined-up. Topics about ‘vacations’ maybe very far from your mind when you switched on the computer; but when the homepage of Search Save unfurled on the monitor, ‘travel’ is on the first row of the numerous lists. Under travel category, there are subcategories like air travel, travel packages, vacation rentals, cruises, and more. You just click any of these items to find the search results. Very convenient, isn’t it? Now, if you’re researching for a specific topic, that’s the time that you’re going to type some keywords on the field box.

* How Different is Search Save?

Posted on January 4th, 2009 by Search Save. Filed under Internet, search engine.

These days, most search engines are ineffective because the present search technology they use is outdated. Searching often gives out inefficient results because these search engines are still based on incorrect and old model, which should be phased-out some years ago. The method of categorizing and finding web pages always attempts to use complex matching of text and mathematics so that it will be able to return useful results. However, the results found by these outmoded search engines are not always useful to searchers.

The people behind Search Save believe that this method is flawed. They also believe that only an ‘actual mind’ has the ability to evaluate the content of a web page; and to think or to determine if the particular content matched what the users are looking for.

Search Save or SearchSave.com is developed by the company with the same name. This program is similar to the usual search engines in the sense that it searches information for Internet users, too. But Search Save is quite different because it is not based on ancient technology. It has its own methods of storing and retrieving data. Its ways of gathering and collecting results are basically unique.

Search Save.com is mainly designed to help Internet users around the world find whatever online information they are searching for. It even searches 33 separate search engines to deliver the most relevant results.

The developers of SearchSave.com almost hate to call it a ’search engine’, so you may just call it your very own personal ‘Internet mind’.

* Why Remove the Search Save Toolbar?

Posted on December 21st, 2008 by Search Save. Filed under search engine.

Some people want to know how to remove the Search Save Toolbar. But why? Because you prefer to search through Google or Yahoo? You may still search through your favorite search engines. Just click on the tiny arrow to pull down menu consisting: Google, Yahoo, Amazon. com, Answers.com, Creative Commons, eBay, About.com, Wikipedia, and SearchSave.

So you’re using Google and Yahoo alternately to do your searching. Why not add a third? Three search engines are better than one, don’t you think?

Doing a comparison of these three’s searching performance, try looking for this topic: satellite images. On the search field, type ’satellite images’ and choose Google on the pull-down menu then click the magnifying glass icon. Google has more than 30 pages or 220 results. Yahoo has 11 pages or 40 results.

Search Save has 9 categories that will have different sets of results:

  1. Web – 4 pages
  2. News – 6 pages
  3. Images – 1 page
  4. Shopping – 3 pages
  5. Articles – 3 pages
  6. Videos – none
  7. Jobs – 3 pages
  8. Audio – 1 page
  9. Blogs – 3 pages

If you’re looking for news about a certain topic, you just click on the ‘news’ tab on the Search Save’s page heading. Only news results about the topic you searched will be given to you. You saved some time because you won’t have to peruse every page and look for the news releases.

If you needed only images, just click on the ‘images’ tab to have all results displayed in photos or pictures with their sizes so you don’t have to click each one to see how it looks.

It’s really cool using Search Save!
